Student Performances
"Pouncing Kittens" by Jeanne Costello, performed by Isabella W. who studies online and received a Superior grade in the 2022 National Piano Guild auditions. She also achieved State Honors in the 2022 Certificate of Merit evaluations and was invited to play this piece at the 2022 MTAC State Convention.
Barry N. performs "Nocturne in C-sharp Minor, Op. Posth." by Chopin and "O Polichinelo!" by Villa-Lobos at the annual spring recital.
Alexandra P. performs "The Mysterious Nile" by Dennis Alexander in a Theme Recital at the 2019 MTAC State Convention in Santa Clara
Sophia T. plays her original composition "Les Personnes dans la Salon" backed up by a bossa nova track on iReal Pro. She won the annual composition award at Marin Academy for this piece.
"The Candy Nabber" by Wendy Stevens performed by Jack P. on video for the 2021 Online Halloween Recital. It was quite a challenge to accommodate Jack's inflatable costume.
Hanna N. performs "Seascapes at Daybreak" by Randall Hartsell at the 2019 MTAC Branch Honors Recital.
Sarah M. performs "Your Smile" by Carolyn Setliff in a New Materials Recital at the 2019 MTAC State Convention in Santa Clara
"Moving" from Sonatina in A Minor by Lynn Freeman Olson. Mailan H., age 7, performs at the 2017 spring recital.
"One Summer's Day" by Joe Hisaishi, arr. by Torby Brand. This lovely piece is from the anime movie Spirited Away, performed by Mailan H., age 12, who is studying online. She received a grade of Superior in the 2022 National Piano Guild auditions.
"Love Story" by Taylor Swift. 6-year-old Shushanik plays along with one of her favorite songs using Piano Maestro, an app that makes sight reading fun!
"Planxty Jim Stewart" by Glenn Jenks played by Kaitlyn C. at the Theme Recital at the 2019 MTAC State Convention in Santa Clara.
"Down a Country Lane" by Aaron Copland. Performed by Caleb L., age 11, 1st place winner in Intermediate B of the 2016 Margaret Bean Davis Memorial Piano Competition.
"Satan Takes a Holiday" arranged by Ms. Bradley for three piano students, two of whom were taking drums and sax at Miller Creek Middle School's Jazz Ensemble. This was the 2008 Halloween Recital. The pianist, Robert A. recently graduated from the Berklee College of Music.
